Hudson Valley Community College Offers Peace Officer Training Program This Fall

Hudson Valley Community College's Workforce Development Institute will offer a 35-hour Peace Officer Training course beginning November 13.

Students who complete the course will receive state certification by the Division of Criminal Justice Services. The course is sponsored by the Zone Five Regional Law Enforcement Training Center.

All full-time peace officers in New York State are required to complete this training.

The course includes discussions of law enforcement ethics, crime scene investigation, and a variety of other subjects related to the duties of a peace officer. A variety of instructors will be used to teach the course, which will be held at the Workforce Development Institute on the Hudson Valley Community College campus.

The course will run Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 10 p.m., beginning November 13 and ending December 18. The cost is $250.
