Wynantskill Resident Ann Gallerie Receives President’s Award At Hudson Valley Community College

Ann Gallerie of Wynantskill, a technical assistant and instructor in Hudson Valley Community College’s Dental Assisting program, was recently honored with the President’s Award for Excellence in College Service.
Gallerie started her career at the college in 1984, and over the past 30 years her duties and responsibilities have grown and evolved. She is responsible for much of the day-to-day operation of the Dental Hygiene Clinic, a 36-unit facility that provides Dental Hygiene students their clinical experience. She also is involved in teaching the Dental assisting program.
Five other faculty and staff members were named recipients of the honorary President’s Award for Excellence for 2014. The award is given to those who have shown exemplary service to the college and its students. Honorees are nominated by students and colleagues.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 75 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of nearly 13,000 students and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 75,000 alumni.
