Latham Resident David Clickner Receives SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service

David Clickner of Latham, the director of the Learning Centers at Hudson Valley Community College, was recently honored with the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.

Since starting his tenure at the college in 2007, Clickner has demonstrated dedication and knowledge in delivering unique and successful student service programs at the Learning Center. He also was recognized for his role in helping revitalize the college’s Marvin Library, which recently underwent a $1 million reconstruction and is now called the Marvin Library Learning Commons.

Eight additional faculty and staff members of the Troy college were named recipients of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence for 2014. Instituted in 1972 by the State University of New York, the Chancellor's Award recognizes exceptional contributions to the university by dedicated professionals. Since its inception, 148 faculty and staff members from Hudson Valley Community College have received the Chancellor's Award.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 75 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of nearly 13,000 students and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 75,000 alumni.
