Workforce Development Institute Representative to Speak at Times Union Job Fair

Hudson Valley Community College’s Workforce Development Institute (WDI) will be represented at the Times Union Job Fair on Wednesday, April 16.
Staff member Jack Urso will provide an overview of the WDI’s instructor-led and online career training programs from 9 to 10 a.m. at the event, which will be held at the Albany Marriott, 189 Wolf Road, Albany. He also will be available to answer questions about the college’s more than 75 credit-bearing degree and certificate programs. The job fair will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Workforce Development Institute was developed to serve individuals who want career-specific training. It also offers customized training for business and industry partners. The organization offers a range of instructor-led programs as well as more than 30 online, self-paced career training courses in areas as diverse as health care, green building and advanced manufacturing and software development.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 75 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 13,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 75,000 alumni.
