Geoffrey Miller of East Greenbush is the new director of development and alumni relations at Hudson Valley Community College.
In his new position, Miller will help guide development activities at the second largest undergraduate institution in the Capital Region.
He will oversee the college’s annual campaign and be actively involved in cultivating and engaging donors to support programs and build the college’s endowment. Miller also will help coordinate activities aimed at greater alumni participation with the college and serve as a liaison to the Alumni Committee and the Hudson Valley Community College Foundation Board of Directors. The college has more than 75,000 alumni, 80 percent of which live in the Capital Region.
He most recently served as Director of Annual Fund and Alumni Relations at Darrow School in New Lebanon, where he had worked since 2010. He was previously was employed in development at The Shaker Museum and Library in Old Chatham.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers 75 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 13,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
