Dr. Bauer of Niskayuna Appointed Interim Department Chair of Sciences at Hudson Valley

Dr. Sally Bauer of Niskayuna has been appointed interim department chair of Biology, Environmental Studies, Biotechnology, Chemistry and Physics at Hudson Valley Community College.
Bauer has been with the college since 1973. She is a professor in Biology and the Physician Assistant Program for the college, and since 1994 has served as program director and department chair for Hudson Valley's Physician Assistant Program. She holds a faculty appointment at Albany Medical College and is a recipient of the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Bauer earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from UAlbany, her M.S. in Health Sciences Education from Russell Sage College, her B.S. in Medical Technology from Union University, Albany College of Pharmacy, and a Certificate of Medical Technology from St. Peter's Hospital School of Medical Technology.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 9,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
