College's Workforce Development Institute to Offer Commercial Driver's License Training Starting April 8

Hudson Valley Community College’s Workforce Development Institute, in partnership with All Star Driving School, will soon offer the Class A Tractor-Trailer training course for those interested in entering the commercial trucking industry.
The 48-hour training program includes 12 hours in the classroom and 36 hours of on-the-road training for individuals with little or no experience in tractor-trailer driving. The course focuses on the New York State Commercial Driver’s License Exam and industry requirements.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the commercial trucking industry is expected to add more than 300,000 new jobs between 2010 and 2020.
The first course begins April 8 and runs through May 3. Classroom sessions and on-the-road courses are offered in Albany.
