Statement from President Andrew Matonak on Student Death; Counseling Services Available
With great sadness, I report that the Troy Police Department notified college officials at approximately 4 p.m. yesterday of the suicide of a Hudson Valley Community College student at an off-campus location. Public Safety officers and a counselor responded to the call to provide assistance and counseling.
As we seek to communicate with members of the student's family and cooperate with law enforcement and health professionals, please know that counseling and support services are available to all members of the Hudson Valley community. Please call the Center for Counseling and Transfer at (518) 629-7320 or visit the Siek Campus Center, Room 260, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
