Margaret Ewart of Brunswick Named Chairperson of Medical Imaging Department at Hudson Valley Community College

Margaret Ewart has been named chairperson of the Medical Imaging Department at Hudson Valley Community College.
A Brunswick resident, Ewart will oversee the Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Echocardiography and Radiologic Technology programs at the college. Each year, the programs graduate approximately 50 students who fill medical imaging positions in hospitals and medical practices around the region.
Ewart is a registered radiologic technologist and has spent most of her health care career at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. She served as medical imaging supervisor at the hospital since 2006.
She received her associate in applied science degree in radiologic technology from Hudson Valley Community College and her bachelors of professional studies in health service management from SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome.
Ewart replaces Jeanne Kelleher, who retired from the college after serving as a department chair and faculty member for 26 years.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 14,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 65,000 alumni.
