Year-end Student Arts Shows at Hudson Valley Community College

Inspirational Works Created by Fine Arts Students of Hudson Valley Community College
Hudson Valley Community College's Fine Arts Department announces the opening of two year-end student exhibitions, the Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition and the Advanced Study in Drawing and Painting Exhibition, in the Teaching Gallery on Friday, April 15. The opening will be celebrated with a reception and awards ceremony for the Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Broadcasting Communications departments, with students from each department in attendance, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the gallery. The exhibitions continue through May 7.
The Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition honors the accomplishments of the Fine Arts students with exemplary drawings, paintings, photography, two-dimensional and digital media.
The Advanced Study in Drawing and Painting exhibition, titled "Departure" showcases students works from that discipline. Advanced Study provides a setting for further guided study in fine art for students who have prepared for the course through completion of the foundation level courses in the Fine Arts Program. Students must apply and be selected for admission to this two-semester class.
Advanced Study Fine Arts students this year are David Dobert, Emily Dorr, Amanda Ellinger, Nicola Fisher, Ben Fredette, Mackenzie Gibbons, Danielle Jensen, Autumn Miller, Kyle Patrick Murphy, Emily Pierce, Lisa Pignatelli, Stacy Plummer, Larissa Tapler and Mackenzie N. Tieper.
The Teaching Gallery is open to the public Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
These exhibitions were organized and installed by students in the Gallery Management program. Gallery exhibitions are made possible with support from the Department of Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Broadcast Communications and the Office of Cultural Affairs.
