FOR RELEASE: Immediate, Monday, Jan. 24, 2011
The community is encouraged to come out and support three of Hudson Valley Community College's athletic teams on Saturday, Feb. 5 at the McDonough Sports Complex.
At 1 p.m., the men's basketball team and men's hockey team host regional rivals Mohawk Valley Community College and Broome Community College, respectively, followed by the women's basketball team, who will host Mohawk Valley at 3 p.m.
"This is an excellent opportunity for the community to come out on a Saturday afternoon with their families and cheer on the home team," said Louis Coplin, the Director for Student Life. "It also is a chance for community residents, especially youth in middle schools and high schools, to get a look at the educational and athletic facilities we offer at the college. It's just another way to promote Hudson Valley and encourage local support," he said.
Free, hot dogs, refreshments, snacks and prizes will be offered. This event is sponsored by the Hudson Valley Community College Student Senate and Athletic Department.
