FOR RELEASE: Immediate, Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010

Two Capital Region colleges recently updated their transfer agreement. The new pact formalizes transfer from Hudson Valley Community College into 22 different programs at Siena College in Loudonville.

With proper advisement, students can begin their higher education at Hudson Valley and transfer into Siena as juniors in programs like Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Environmental Studies, Social Work and Psychology, for example.

Each year, about 80 students transfer to Siena College from Hudson Valley, according to Hudson Valley's Office of Planning and Research.

"Siena College is one of the top transfer schools for our graduates, and for good reason. They offer a wealth of options in an outstanding learning environment," said Hudson Valley President Drew Matonak. "We are very pleased to update and expand the articulation agreement between our two schools."

"The new agreement makes it easier for students to transfer from Hudson Valley Community College to Siena College. Students are able to see upfront how their credits transfer and how long it will take them to complete their degree program of choice," said Associate Director of Admissions and Transfer Coordinator Jen Sloan. "Hudson Valley students truly enrich the classroom at Siena and we are proud to have a strong relationship with such a high quality community college."
