David Abdoo from Schenectady honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Schenectady resident David Abdoo was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Abdoo was the recipient of the The Frederick C.V. Bruch Award for Excellence in the Organic Chemistry Laboratory, which is given to an outstanding student by the faculty of the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department.

Abdoo is a 2010 graduate of the college's Biological Sciences program.


Ryan Acker from Rensselaer honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Rensselaer resident Ryan Acker was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Acker was honored for Academic Achievement in Microbiology. The award is given to an outstanding student by faculty from the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department. Acker is enrolled in the Nursing program.


Fatima Alsalami from Troy honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Troy resident Fatima Alsalami was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Alsalami was the recipient of the Academic Excellence in Biology/Chemistry Award, which is given to an outstanding student by the faculty of the Biology, Chemistry and Physics program.

Alsalami is enrolled in the Dental Hygiene program.


Robert Anderson from Stuyvesant honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Stuyvesant resident Robert Clyde Anderson was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Anderson was the recipient of the Threads Writing Award, which is given to an outstanding student by the faculty of the English, Modern Languages and English As A Second Language Department. Threads is the college's annual student literary journal of poetry, fiction and photography.

Anderson is an Individual Studies major.


Erik Austin from Schenectady honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Schenectady resident Erik Austin was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Austin was the recipient of the Kenneth M. Barber Award for Excellence in Experimental Physics, which is given to an outstanding student by the faculty of the Biology, Chemistry and Physics program.

Austin is enrolled in the Engineering Science program.


Michael Barbato from Athens honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Athens resident Michael N. Barbato was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Barbato was the recipient of the Electrical Construction and Maintenance Club Award for Academic Excellence, which is given to an outstanding student in the Electrical Construction and Maintenance program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Engineering and Industrial Technologies.

Barbato graduated with honors from the Electrical Construction program this year.


Amanda Barnett from Schaghticoke honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Schaghticoke resident Amanda Barnett was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Barnett was honored for Academic Achievement in Biological Laboratory Techniques. The award is given to an outstanding student by the Biology, Chemistry and Physics faculty.

Barnett graduated with honors from the college's Business Administration program and also was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges.


Jessica Bellon from Greenfield Center honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Greenfield Center resident Jessica Rae Bellon was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Bellon was the recipient of the Paul N. Luther Memorial Scholarship, which is given to an outstanding graduate in the Criminal Justice program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Bellon also was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges.


Michael Bermas from Sand Lake honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Sand Lake resident Michael Bermas was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Bermas was the recipient of the Sage Transfer Award, which is given to an outstanding student in the Physical Education Studies program who plans to transfer to the Sage College of Albany.


Hannah Bewsher from Watervliet honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Watervliet resident Hannah Bewsher was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Gina Bocketti from Troy honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Troy resident Gina Bocketti was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Bocketti was the recipient of the Third District Dental Society Dental Hygiene Scholarship, which is given to an outstanding graduating student in the Dental Hygiene program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Health Sciences.


John Bossalini from Saratoga Springs honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Saratoga Springs resident John Bossalini was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Bossalini was the recipient of the Academic Excellence in General Biology Award, which is given to an outstanding student by the faculty of the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department.

Bossalini was an honors graduate from the Individual Studies program and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges.


Randolph Bowers from Delmar honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Delmar resident Randolph Bowers was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Bowers was the recipient of the Outstanding Construction Technology Student Award, which is given to the most outstanding graduating student in the Construction Technology program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Engineering and Industrial Technologies.

Bowers also was an honors graduate, completing his education with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Travis Brandow from Gilboa honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Gilboa resident Travis Brandow was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Brandow, an honor student, was the recipient of the Chief Executives Network Award, which is given to an outstanding student in the college's Manufacturing Technical Systems program. The award honors the student with one of the highest grade point averages in the program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Engineering and Industrial Technologies.


Kevin Brann from Scotia honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Scotia resident Kevin Brann was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Brann was the recipient of the Robert Hooke Award in Cellular Biology, which is given to an outstanding student by the faculty in the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department.

He was an honors graduate this year in the Biological Sciences program.


Yvette Brooks from Colonie honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Colonie resident Yvette Brooks was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Brooks was the recipient of The Chemical Dependency Counseling Values Award, which is given to an outstanding student in the Chemical Dependency Counseling program. The award honors the student who most fully embodies the spirit and values of the chemical dependency counseling field.


Nathan Brotz from Albany honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Albany resident Nathan Douglas Brotz was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Albany resident Alex Bruce was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Bruce was the recipient of the The Gertrude L. Dourdounas Certificate of Achievement Award, which is given to an outstanding student in the Radiologic Technology program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Health Sciences.

Bruce also was an honors graduate, completing his studies with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Alex Bruso from Watervliet honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Watervliet resident Alex Bruso was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Bruso was the recipient of the Eastman Kodak Award, which is given to an outstanding student in the Computing and Information Science program. He was a student in the System and Network Administration program, which is part of the college's School of Business.

Bruso was also an honor graduate, completing his studies with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Maria Cardenas-Grajales from Delmar honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Delmar resident Maria Cardenas-Grajales was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Cardenas-Grajales, an honors graduate from the Criminal Justice program, was named to the Phi Theta Kappa All New York State Academic Team, which recognizes the top students at New York's community colleges. She also was one of the college's four recipients of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence and the recipient of The President's Award, which is given to an outstanding student in the graduating class of 2010.


Samantha Carson from Albany honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Albany resident Samantha Carson was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Carson was honored for Academic Excellence in Ecology/Enivornmental Studies. This award is given to an outstanding student by the faculty in the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department. Carson was a 2010 honors graduate from the college's Environmental Science program.


James Cary from Selkirk honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Selkirk resident James L. Cary was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Cary was honored for Excellence in Computing and Information Sciences, which is given to the most outstanding graduating student in the Computing and Information Science program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Business.

Cary was also an honors graduate, completing his studies with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Kayleigh Chalkowski from Albany honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Albany resident Kayleigh Chalkowski was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Chalkowski was the recipient of The Frederick C.V. Bruch Award for Excellence in the Organic Chemistry Laboratory, which is given to an outstanding student by the faculty in the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department.

A 2010 honors graduate from the college's Liberal Arts and Science: Mathematics and Science program, she also received the RPI Award for Excellence, given to a high-achieving student who plans to transfer to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.


Veronica Charley from Colonie honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Colonie resident Veronica Charley was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Charley was the recipient of the Northeast Ventilator Award of Excellence in Mechanical Ventilation Theory and Practice, which is given to an outstanding graduating student in the Respiratory Care program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Health Sciences.

She was also an honor graduate, completing her studies with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Brandon Chrysler from Ghent honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Ghent resident Brandon Chrysler was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Chrysler was the recipient of the Academic Achievement in Anatomy and Physiology Award, which is given to an outstanding student by the faculty in the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department. He is an Individual Studies major.


Christopher Colwell from Watervliet honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Watervliet resident Christopher Colwell was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Colwell, an Individual Studies major, was honored by the faculty of the History, Philosophy and Social Sciences Department for Excellence in Economics.

Schenectady resident Nathanael Crecca was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Crecca was honored for Excellence in Computing and Information Sciences. The award is given to an outstanding student in the Computing and Information Science program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Business.

Crecca was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges, and was a 2010 honors graduate of the Computer Information Systems program.


Daniel Croft from Schodack Landing honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Schodack Landing resident Daniel Croft was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Croft was the recipient of the RPI Award for Excellence, which is given to an outstanding student in the Mathematics and Engineering Science program who plans to continue his studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The academic program is part of the college's School of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Croft graduated this year with a degree in Liberal Art and Science: Mathematics and Science.


Todd Crouch from Ballston Spa honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Ballston Spa resident Todd Crouch was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Crouch was honored for Academic Excellence in Biology/Chemistry. The award is given to an outstanding student by the faculty of the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department. He is enrolled in the college's Biological Sciences program.

Schenectady resident Emilie Nicole Danowski was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Danowski was the recipient of the Academic Excellence and Outstanding Service in the Broadcast Communications Program, which is given to the most outstanding graduating student in the college's Broadcast Communications program.

Danowski was an honors graduate of the Broadcast Communications program.

Lisa Doshier from Lenox honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Lenox resident Lisa S. Doshier was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Doshier received two recognitions: for Excellence in Academic and Technical Skills in Restorative Art as well as Outstanding Achievement and Academic Excellence in Mortuary Science. Both awards are given to an outstanding graduating student in the Mortuary Science program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Health Sciences.

Doshier was an honor graduate of the Mortuary Science program and a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges.


Linda Dow from Schoharie honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Schoharie resident Linda Dow was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Dow was honored for Excellence in the Adminstrative Information Technician program, which is given to the most outstanding graduating student in Administrative Information Technician program, which is part of the college's School of Business.

Dow was an honors student in the program, having maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Ballston Lake resident Ryan Dussault was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Dussault was honored as the Outstanding Architecture Technology Student. The award is given to the most outstanding graduating student in the Architectural Technology program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Engineering and Industrial Technologies.

Dussault was an honors graduate of the program and a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges.

Latham resident Julene Eayrs was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Eayrs was the recipient of the Dr. Joseph J. Bulmer Award for Excellence in Library Research, which is given to the most comprehensive library research paper submitted by a student. The award was named for and endowed by Dr. Joseph J. Bulmer, the third president of Hudson Valley Community College.

Eayrs was an honors graduate of the Individual Studies program and a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges.


Jonathan Ernest from Sand Lake honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Sand Lake resident Jonathan Ernest was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Ernest was the recipient of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Award for Excellence, which is given to an outstanding student in the Computing and Information Science program who plans to continue his education at Rensselaer.

Ernest was an honors graduate of the college's Computer Information Systems program.

Ferrari was the recipient of the Capital District Funeral Directors Association Award for Excellence in Funeral Service, which is given to an outstanding graduating student in the Mortuary Science program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Health Sciences.

Filippidou was the recipient of The Bonnie Stoliker Memorial Award, which is given to an outstanding graduating student in the Human Services program. The award is named for a former student in the program and honors a new graduate who best exemplifies the values of the Human Services program.

Melrose resident Susan Finkle was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Wynantskill resident Alan Edward Hiltz was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Hiltz was the recipient of the Stephen L. Hyatt Award, which is given to an outstanding graduating student in the programs related to the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department. The award is named in honor of Stephen Hyatt, an influential former faculty member at the college.

Hiltz was an honors graduate of the Biological Sciences degree program and a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges.

Hladchuk was the recipient of the Academic Excellence in General Biology Award, which is given to an outstanding student by faculty in the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department. He is studying Individual Studies at the college.


Barbara Hoenzsch from Stillwater honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Stillwater resident Barbara Hoenzsch was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Hoenzsch received the Academic Achievement in Biological Laboratory Techniques Award, which is given to an outstanding student by the faculty in the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department.

Hoenzsch, an honors graduate in the Individual Studies program, also was honored with the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges.


Lynn Hogan from Cohoes honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Cohoes resident Lynn Hogan was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Hogan was the recipient of the Excellence in Accounting Award, which is given to the most outstanding student in the college's Accounting program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Business.

Kinderhook resident Evan Hogan was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Hogan was honored for Academic Excellence in Ecology/Enivornmental Studies. The award is given to an outstanding student by faculty in the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department. He is enrolled in the Environmental Science program at the college.


Timothy Huggins from Ballston Lake honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Ballston Lake resident Timothy Huggins was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Huggins was the recipient of the Environmental Stewardship Award, which is given to an outstanding student by the faculty in the college's Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department. Huggins is a 2010 graduate of the college's Environmental Studies degree program.


Matthew Jenks from Fort Edward honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Fort Edward resident Matthew Jenks was recently honored for academic excellence at Hudson Valley Community College.

Jenks was the recipient of the Blanchard Industrial Supplies Award, which is given to an outstanding student in the Manufacturing Technical Systems program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Engineering and Industrial Technologies.

Jenks was an honors graduate of the program, having achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during his studies. He also was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges.

Jensen was the recipient of the Excellence in Technical Skills in Embalming Theory and Practice Award, which is given to an outstanding graduating student in the Mortuary Science program. The academic program is part of the college's School of Health Sciences.

She was the recipient of the Award for Excellence in Student Teaching, which is given to an outstanding student in the Early Childhood program. La was an honors graduate of the Early Childhood program and a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges.

Lee was the recipient of the Joseph J. Smith Engineering and Science Award to RPI, which is given to an outstanding student in the Engineering Science program who plans to continue their education at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Lewis was the recipient of the The English Department Four L Award: Celebrating Language, Literature, Learning and Laughter, which is given to an outstanding student by faculty in the English, Modern Languages and English As A Second Language Department. The award honors the Individual Studies or Liberal Arts student who has excelled in English language courses at the college.

Luedtke was honored for Academic Excellence and Outstanding Service in the Gallery Management Program, which is given to the most outstanding graduating student in the college's new Gallery Management associate degree program.

Luedtke was an honors graduate, having received a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the term of her studies.
