Hudson Valley Community College Student Fan of Troy Honored with NYSMATYC Award

Hua Fan of Troy, a recent graduate of Hudson Valley Community College, was awarded the New York State Mathematics Association of Two-Year Colleges scholarship award of $500. Fan graduated with honors from the Individual Studies Department at Hudson Valley. She plans to study mathematics at UAlbany.
At Hudson Valley, students benefit from easy access to dedicated faculty, small class sizes and excellent laboratory and computer facilities. Individual Studies students are offered the flexible option of structuring their own academic schedules in consultation with a departmental advisor in order to best meet their future career and educational objectives.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 9,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
