Albany Resident Wins Academic Award

Leslie Stilson, an Albany resident and recent
Hudson Valley Community College graduate, was recently presented with the
Doris and Hy Rosenblum Consideration Award.
The Doris and Hy Rosenblum Consideration Award
is presented to a graduating student who demonstrated the qualities of
caring and community service, and carries at least a 3.49 GPA. Stilson
received $250 through a fund established with the Hudson Valley Community
Stilson graduated with honors from Hudson Valley's
Chemical Dependency Counseling program. She hopes to become a chemical
dependency counselor and a speaker, warning at-risk individuals of the
perils of addiction.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy,
offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions;
Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and
Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State University
of New York system, Hudson Valley has an enrollment of more than 9,000
students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives
and worker retraining.
