Albany Student Tabitha Ratemo Honored by Hudson Valley Community College

Tabitha Ratemo of Albany recently received a year-end departmental award at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy.
Ratemo received the Award for Academic Achievement in Biological Laboratory Techniques, which is presented to an outstanding student by the faculty of the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department. Ratemo, named to both the President's and Dean's lists while at Hudson Valley, plans to attend the University at Albany to pursue a bachelor's degree in biology. She served as a college Admissions Office tour guide and was a member of the International Students Club.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate’s degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
