Clifton Park Student Dorian Pitman Honored by Hudson Valley Community College

Dorian Pitman of Clifton Park recently received a year-end departmental award at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy.
Pitman received the Award for Academic Excellence in Anatomy and Physiology, which is presented to an outstanding student by the faculty of the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department. Pitman, a President's List student, also received the History, Philosophy and Social Sciences Award for academic excellence in writing and the HVCC Library Research Award.
She plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in nutrition science at Russell Sage College and join the Dietetic Internship Program. Her goal is to take the American Dietetic Assocation exam to become a registered dietition in New York State. She is a member of the Alpha Xi Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate’s degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training.
