Waterford Student Tara Knable Honored by Hudson Valley Community College

Tara Knable of Waterford recently received a year-end departmental award at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy.
Knable received the Threads Writing Award, which is presented to an outstanding student by the English, Modern Languages and English as a Second Language program. Knable was named to the President's and Dean's lists while at Hudson Valley. An environmental science major, she has an interest in nature photography.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate’s degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
