Altamont Student Lisa Wolcott Honored by Hudson Valley Community College

Lisa Wolcott of Altamont, a 2009 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College’s Early Childhood program, was honored by the college with a departmental award.
Wolcott received the Award for Excellence in Student Teaching, which is given to an outstanding graduate of the Teacher Preparation program. Wolcott, a President's List student, works as a teaching assistant in the Guilderland Elementary School. She is a mother and former Girl Scout Leader.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate’s degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
