Rensselaer Student Brittany Slingerland Honored by Hudson Valley Community College

Brittany Slingerland of Rensselaer, a 2009 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College’s Electrical Construction and Maintenance program, was honored by the college with a departmental award.
Slingerland received the Electrical Construction and Maintenance Club Award for Student Leadership, which is given to an outstanding graduate of the Electrical Construction program. Slingerland will attend SUNY Oswego to earn a bachelor's degree in technology education. She was named to the President's List every semester at Hudson Valley. Outside school, she serves as a volunteer firefighter and is a member of the Yankee Doodle Marching Band.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate’s degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training.
