Cohoes Student Heather Sheahan Honored by Hudson Valley Community College

Heather Sheahan of Cohoes, NY, a 2009 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College’s Dental Hygiene program, was honored by the college with a departmental award.
Sheahan received the Dental Society of the State of New York: Albert H. Stevenson Award, which is given to an outstanding graduate of the Dental Hygiene program. Sheahan, named to the President's list every semester at Hudson Valley, plans to pursue a bachelor's degree through Empire State College. She will work as a registered dental hygienist once she receives her license. A recipient of the Gerard A. Ripp Memorial Award and Dental Hygiene Department Certificate of Academic Achievement, she was a member and treasurer of the Student American Dental Hygienist Association.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate’s degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training.
