Schenectady Student Tina Rowinski Honored by Hudson Valley Community College

Tina Rowinski of Schenectady, a 2009 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College’s Dental Hygiene program, was honored by the college with a departmental award.
Rowinski received the Capital District Dental Hygienists' Association -- Verna Thornhill Meeker Scholarship, which is given to an outstanding graduate of the Dental Hygiene program. Rowinski,a President's and Dean's list student, also received the CDDHA's Professional Award. A member of the Student American Dental Hygienists Association, she has volunteered at Healthy Kids Day and Children's Dental Health Day events and plans to work full-time in private practice. She hopes to continue volunteering to "spread the word on the importance of oral health care."
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate’s degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training.
