Latham Student Kyla Philbrook Honored by Hudson Valley Community College

Kyla Philbrook of Latham, a 2009 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College’s Individual Studies program, was honored by the college with a departmental award.
Philbrook received the Donna Costello Memorial Scholarship Award for Excellence in Psychology, which is given to an outstanding graduate pursuing psychology as a course of study. Additional awards for Philbrook include: Excellence in Directing in Theater Arts, Outstanding Service in Theatre Arts and to Theatre Students, Excellence in Academic Reseach for History, Philosophy and Social Sciences. She will serve 10 months with Americorps NCCC in Sacramento, prior to entering SUNY New Paltz to pursue a bachelor's degree in psychology.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate’s degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training.
