Troy Student Shafiqa Alsalami Honored by Hudson Valley Community College

Shafiqa Alsalami of Troy, a 2009 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College’s Computing and Information Systems program, was honored by the college with a departmental award.
Alsalami received the International Association of Administration Professional Scholarship, which is given to an outstanding graduate of the Health Information Technician program. Alsalami, who was twice named to the President's and Dean's lists at Hudson Valley, plans to work as an administrative or medical assistant. She also is a recipient of the Phi Theta Kappa Distinguished Member Award.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate’s degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training.
