Brendon Layton Joins Communications Staff at Hudson Valley Community College

Brendon Layton of Waterford has joined the staff of the Office of Communications and Marketing at Hudson Valley Community College as a communications and marketing specialist.
Layton is a graduate of Catholic Central High School and received his bachelor's degree in public communications from The College of Saint Rose. He most recently was a special assistant for the New York State Senate Conference Services, working on managing and updating the web site of the Senate majority leader and other state senators. Prior to that, he was employed at the New York State Senate Press Office as a communications assistant. After his graduation from Saint Rose, Layton was awarded the Richard J. Roth Journalism Fellowship, which allowed him the opportunity to work in the State Senate press office.
At Hudson Valley, Layton will provide marketing and communications support for the college's School of Business and School of Engineering and Industrial Technology, as well as the Cultural Affairs program, the Marvin Library, College in the High School programs and numerous student service offices.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate's degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, Hudson Valley has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
