Albany Student G. Colton Class Honored by Hudson Valley Community College Photo Available

G. Colton Class of Albany, NY, a 2008 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College's EMT Paramedic program, was honored by the college with a departmental award.

Class received the Threads Writing Award, an English Department award. Class, who earned a certificate in the EMT Paramedic program, currently works as a paramedic for Empire Ambulance Service and plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in communication at Excelsior College.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate's degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
