Diamond Point Student Angela Phillips Honored by Hudson Valley Community College Photo Available

Angela Phillips of Diamond Point, a 2007 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College’s Mortuary Science program, was recently honored by the college.

Phillips received the Mortuary Science Department Award for Leadership and Professionalism, which is given to an outstanding student in the Mortuary Science program.

A high honor student while at Hudson Valley, she was president of the Mortuary Science Club. She also is active in St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Hudson Falls.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate’s degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
