Free or Low-Cost Mammograms Offered at Capital District Educational Opportunity Center

The Bellevue Woman’s Hospital will offer free or low-cost mammograms to uninsured and insured women from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, April 23 at the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center, 145 Congress St., Troy.
The hospital’s Mobile Mammography Van personnel, including a certified mammography technologist, will offer the screenings. Interested women must pre-register by calling toll free 1-888-423-3366 by Wednesday, April 18.
Since 1966, the Capital District EOC, a division of Hudson Valley Community College, has offered tuition-free academic and workforce development opportunities to economically disadvantaged and educationally under-prepared New York State residents. In its 40-year history, the center has served more than 47,000 individuals.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and workforce and academic preparation programs offered through the Educational Opportunity Center. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and it is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
