Colonie Resident Michelle Kallenburg Honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Michelle Kallenburg of Colonie, a 2006 graduate of the Hudson Valley Community College Math and Science program, was recently honored by the college.
Kallenburg received the NYS Mathematics Association of Two Year Colleges Award, which is awarded to a high-achieving graduating senior in the college’s Liberal Arts and Science: Mathematics and Science curriculum. She hopes to continue her education at Norfolk State University, where she will study Secondary Education with a focus on mathematics. She hopes to teach high school mathematics.
A member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for students in two-year colleges, Kallenburg was named to the President’s List during all four of her semesters at Hudson Valley. She also was the recipient of the Alumni Legacy Scholarship in 2005.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 60 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training.
