Troy Resident Corinne Corey Honored by Hudson Valley Community College

Corinne Corey of Troy, a 2006 graduate of the Hudson Valley Community College Dental Hygiene program, was recently honored by the college.
Corey received the Third District Dental Society Dental Hygiene Scholarship, the Troy Dental Study Club Scholarship, and the Oral B Excellence in Chairside Education Award. A President’s List student for all four of her college semesters, Corey also was named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.
Corey also volunteered at St. Peter’s Dental Clinic and worked as a dental assistant before attending Hudson Valley. She plans to work as a full-time dental hygienist and hopes to return to Hudson Valley Community College as a faculty member.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 60 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and workforce and academic preparation programs offered through the Educational Opportunity Center. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and it is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining.
