Mickey Brantley To Conduct Hitting Clinic at Hudson Valley

Mickey Brantley of the New York Mets will conduct a hitting clinic at Hudson Valley Community College's McDonough Complex on Sunday, February 11. Brantley, a Catskill native who serves as coordinator of minor league hitting instruction for the Mets, will be at Hudson Valley from 5 until 9 p.m. Brantley will be available to talk to the press from 4:30 until 5 p.m.

At the Hudson Valley clinic, Brantley will work with approximately 100 local children, ages 8 through 18. The cost is $40 per person. All interested parties should contact Hudson Valley baseball coach Tom Reinisch at (518) 274-3768.

Brantley is a 1979 graduate of Catskill High School. He played for Columbia-Greene Community College for one season, and also attended Coastal Carolina College. Brantley participated in 302 major-league games for the Seattle Mariners. From 1986 to 1989, he hit .259 with 32 home runs and 125 RBI.
