Current and prospective Hudson Valley Community College students can apply now for more than 60 different scholarships that are available through the college and its charitable foundation.

Scholarship awards range from $200 to full tuition, and are available both to currently enrolled students and high school seniors who have applied to a degree program at the college for Fall 2006. Scholarships are available to current and prospective students in each of the college's four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences.

The current annual tuition at Hudson Valley Community College for full-time students who are New York State residents is $2,700. All scholarships require that applicants submit a typed essay of at least 250 words describing their educational and vocational objectives. In addition, most scholarships require that students have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with the college.

The deadline for all applications is Friday, March 10, 2006. For more information, call (518) 629-4626 or visit www.hvcc.edu/scholarships to see a list of available scholarships and access an application.

The Hudson Valley Community College Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable corporation formed in 1983 to philanthropically support the college's mission. Gifts to the Foundation from alumni, corporations and friends are used to enhance programs, facilities and scholarship opportunities at the college.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 60 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and workforce and academic preparation programs offered through the Educational Opportunity Center. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
