Hill, a dentist who practices in Averill Park, was elected to his second, two-year term as chairman at the board's annual meeting last month. He has had two appointments to the college's Board of Trustees. He served from 1982 to 1987, and most recently has been a board member since 1995. Prior to serving as chairman, he served as vice chairman of the board since 1997.
Dr. Hill also serves as chairman of the college's Dental Hygiene advisory board. He is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. In addition, Dr. Hill is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, the Troy Dental Study Club, and the Third District Dental Society, of which he also is a past president.

A new student trustee, Ourelian J. Haley of Newburgh, also has joined the board for the 2005-06 academic year. Haley, a second-year Mortuary Science student who also serves as president of the Mortuary Science Club, was elected to the position by the college's student body in the spring. He is scheduled to graduate in May 2006.
Haley will serve a one-year term that coincides with the academic year. The nine other members of the 10-member Board of Trustees serve seven-year terms.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 60 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and workforce and academic preparation programs offered through the Educational Opportunity Center. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and it is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
