Benjamin J. Crupe Jr. of Altamont, a 2004 honors graduate of the Manufacturing Technical Systems (MFT) program at Hudson Valley Community College, recently received the Chief Executive Network's Award, which is given to the MFT graduate with the second-highest grade point average.

Crupe graduated with a 3.93 GPA. He is currently in an apprentice program at Feuz Manufacturing in Schenectady, where he plans to work as a journeyman CNC machinist.

He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for students at two-year colleges.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 50 degree and certification programs in four academic divisions: Liberal Arts and Sciences; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Business; as well as programs run through the Educational Opportunity Center offering certification programs in workforce and academic preparation. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 11,000 students, and it is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining. Hudson Valley has nearly 60,000 alumni.
