Hudson Valley Community College Hires Kelly Conlon

Kelly Conlon of Albany has been named confidential assistant to the Hudson Valley Community College Foundation, a not-for-profit charitable corporation formed in 1983 to philanthropically support the college's mission.
As confidential assistant, Conlon will assist with the planning and implementation of all Foundation activities, including special events, donor cultivation and scholarship coordination. Gifts to the Foundation from alumni, businesses, faculty, staff and friends are used to enhance programs, facilities and scholarship opportunities at the college.
Conlon has experience in special events planning, sales, marketing and public relations. Conlon comes to Hudson Valley from the Albany County Convention and Visitors Bureau, where she served as a convention sales assistant. She received her bachelor's degree in public communications from the College of Saint Rose in Albany.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 50 degree and certification programs in four academic divisions: Liberal Arts and Sciences; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Business; as well as programs run through the Educational Opportunity Center offering certification programs in workforce and academic preparation. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 11,000 students, and it is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining. Hudson Valley has graduated more than 55,000 students.
