"Table of Limits" Mixes Dance, Art, Performance Art and Poetry at Hudson Valley Community College Event scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6

"Table of Limits," a collaborative, improvisational performance featuring dance, poetry and the visual and performing arts will be staged at Hudson Valley Community College at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, in the Maureen Stapleton Theatre.

Thomas Lail, an artist and musician who is an associate professor of fine art at Hudson Valley, constructed the moveable sets that will provide a framework and the environment for improvised movement by Utah-based dancers Pamela Geber and Eric Handman, and New York-based performance artist clyde forth (Jessica Reeves Cohen).

San Francisco-based poet and visual artist Yedda Morrison'stext provides the score/soundtrack to the performance. Hudson Valley Community College Fine Arts students also will participate in the performance. Tickets for the event are $7.

In conjunction with the staging of "Table of Limits," Morrison will read from her poetry at noon on Thursday, Dec. 4, in Meeting Rooms 1 and 2 of the Bulmer Telecommunications Center on campus. Her books of poetry include "The Marriage of the Well BuiltHead," "Shed" and "Crop;" Morrison also edits "Tripwire," a journal of experimental poetics. The reading is free.

Originally developed and premiered at Bennington College in July 2001, "Table of Limits" is being re-staged at Hudson Valley as part of the college's 50th anniversary celebration.
