Amelia Catalina Named to Position at Hudson Valley Community College's Albany Extension Center

Amelia Catalina of Albany was hired as technical assistant for Hudson Valley Community College's Albany Extension Center at 175 Central Avenue.
Catalina's responsibilities include assisting students and faculty members who utilize the extension center. Approximately 15 credit courses are being offered at the site during the fall semester. GED training also is available during the daytime at the center.
Catalina, who reports to the Office of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions, is available to answer questions regarding credit or credit-free courses at the extension center. She previously was employed by the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.
Catalina is a graduate of SUNY Potsdam, and earned a bachelor's degree in communications.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 50 degree and certification programs in four academic divisions: Liberal Arts and Sciences; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Business; as well as programs run through the Educational Opportunity Center offering certification programs in workforce and academic preparation. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 11,000 students, and it is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining. Hudson Valley has graduated more than 55,000 students.
