Amanda Moon Honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Amanda Moon of Troy, a 2003 graduate from the Hudson Valley Community College Nursing program, recently was honored by the college.
Moon, a president's list and dean's list student during her time at the college, was the recipient of the Seton Health Systems Award for Oncology Nursing. She was listed in the publication "Who's Who Among Students in America's Junior Colleges" in 2003 and also was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the national academic honor society for students in two-year colleges. Moon was president of the Hudson Valley Community College Nursing Club.
She has accepted a full-time position as a registered nurse in the Albany Medical Center intensive care unit, and plans to continue her education part time while working full time.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 11,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
