Voorheesville Resident Named Assistant Director Of The Center For Careers & Employment

Renee G. Swift of Voorheesville was recently named assistant director of the Center for Careers & Employment at Hudson Valley Community College. Among Swift's responsibilities, she will contact and visit with prospective employers in an effort to secure employment and experiential opportunities for Hudson Valley students and alumni.
Swift previously served as the assistant director of Hudson Valley's Financial Aid office. In her role with the Center for Careers & Employment, she will assist with cooperative education, student initiatives, career counseling, employee and alumni relations, and job development. She also will work on the Center for Careers & Employment's Job Fair & Transfer Day, Cooperative Education Job Fair, and Career Day, and she will conduct workshops aimed at student enrichment.
Swift earned a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting and a master's degree in Student Personnel Administration from Buffalo State.
Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 50 degree and certification programs in four academic divisions: Liberal Arts and Sciences; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Business; as well as programs run through the Educational Opportunity Center offering certification programs in workforce and academic preparation. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 9,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining.
