Popular crafts shows will be presented in the McDonough Sports Complex at Hudson Valley Community College beginning in November.

Country Folk Art Craft Shows will relocate its three annual shows from Saratoga Equine Sports Center to the field house in the college's sports complex, according to Judy Austin-Rancourt, Hudson Valley's director of special events and facilities utilization.

The first County Folk Art Show in the new location will take place Nov. 22-24, and will feature 150 exhibitors from about 12 states. Crafters generally present an array of work including wood furniture, shelves, quilts, garden art, lace, curtains, patients, prints, floral arrangements, wood carvings, baskets, stained glass, jewelry, dolls, birdhouses and gourmet food items.

The three-day show is expected to bring close to 15,000 people to the college's Troy campus, according to show officials, who said they plan to return in April, September and November of next year with similar shows at Hudson Valley.

The sports complex at Hudson Valley is used for a number of other shows on a yearly basis, including the Captital District Garden and Flower Show each spring.

Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training.
