Toronto Resident Sandra Homen Honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Sandra Homen of Westmoreland Avenue, Toronto, a 2002 graduate from Hudson Valley Community College's Dental Hygiene program, was recently honored by the college.
Homen was the recipient of the Albert H. Stevenson Award, which is given by the Dental Society of the State of New York.
Homen was a president's list student and was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. She also was given the Faculty Student Association Award and was honored for having the highest grade point average among all international students at the college.
Homen was a peer tutor in the college's Learning Assistance Center and was a member of the Student American Dental Hygienists' Association.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, New York, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 10,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
