Saratoga Springs Resident Laurie Vane Honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Laurie Vane of Saratoga Springs, a 2002 graduate from Hudson Valley Community Dental Hygiene program, was recently honored by the college.
Vane, a dean's list student, was the recipient of the Dental Hygiene Association of the State of New York President's Award for Excellence. She previously was the recipient of the freshman achievement award and was listed in Who's Who Among American Junior College Students. She was president of the Student American Dental Hygienists' Association chapter. Vane plans to enter the dental hygiene field and return to school for a bachelor's degree.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 10,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
