Recreational Skating Hours For Holiday Week Announced at Hudson Valley Rink

The Conway Ice Arena at Hudson Valley Community College will be closed Dec. 24 through Dec. 25 for the holidays, but will re-open on Dec. 26 with longer hours for public skating during the week.

Recreational skating will be offered from noon to 2:15 p.m. and from 4 to 6:15 p.m. from Wednesday. Dec. 26 through Friday, Dec. 28. The ice arena will be open from 4 to 6:15 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 29 and 30, and will close again for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

The Conway Arena is located within the McDonough Sports Complex on the Hudson Valley Community College campus at 80 Vandenburgh Ave., Troy.

Admission for public skating is $3 for adults 18 and over and $2 for children or persons over 60. Hudson Valley students are admitted free with their student I.D.

The Conway Arena offers a discount to groups of 10 or more. Information can be obtained by calling 629-4850.

Skate and helmet rentals are available at the arena, with sizes from toddler-6 through men's hockey skates in size 14. Skate rentals are $3 per pair and helmets are $1.

Coupon books of "Skating Bucks" are available for $10 at the arena, including coupons worth $12 in admissions or skate rentals.

Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the SUNY system, it has an enrollment of more than 10,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning and workforce training.
