Winnicki Joins Hudson Valley Community College As Assistant Director of Student Life

Jonathan M. Winnicki of West Sand Lake has joined Hudson Valley Community College as assistant director of student life, where he will plan student activities and serve as a liaison between students and the college’s administration and faculty.

Winnicki returns to Hudson Valley, from which he graduated from in 2003. While a Hudson Valley student, he worked in the Student Activities Office which he now helps to run. Winnicki received dual bachelor’s degrees in computer art and theater from SUNY College at Oneonta in May. Winnicki also served as president of the Student Association at SUNY-Oneonta, where he helped establish a $50,000 Student Association Leadership Scholarship and coordinated efforts to send student groups and a refitted mobile classroom to the Gulf Coast in response to Hurricane Katrina.
Winnicki said he looks forward to continuing Hudson Valley’s diverse offering of extra-curricular activities and ensuring that students get the most out of their college experience. Hudson Valley has more than 50 student clubs and organizations and offers a wide variety of activities and trips for students each semester.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 60 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and workforce and academic preparation programs offered through the Educational Opportunity Center. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and it is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
