Hudson Valley Community College and CDTA Launch Student Transportation Partnership with Expanded Service

DETAILS: Hudson Valley Community College President Drew Matonak, Board of Trustees Chairman Conrad Lang, CDTA Chairman David Stackrow, government officials and college Student Senate and Environmental Sustainability Committee members together announce the launch of a comprehensive transportation program offering students unlimited ridership on CDTA buses and expanded service to Hudson Valley.

The universal ridership program improves student accessibility and connectivity, provides a cost benefit to students and environmentally friendly transportation. One-fifth of CDTA’s ridership comes from universal access partnerships.

Hudson Valley Community College enrolls 13,250 students in 75 academic programs. In addition to its main campus in Troy, the college has extension centers in Albany and Malta, and offers courses at 11 Capital Region locations.

Reporters and photographers are invited to board the bus and "Swipe and Ride" with Hudson Valley’s Viking mascot!

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers 75 associate degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and workforce and academic preparation programs offered through the Educational Opportunity Center. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of nearly 13,250 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining. Hudson Valley has 75,000 alumni.
