Malta Expo 2012 to Include Family Activities at Hudson Valley Community College's TEC-SMART Facility

What: Hudson Valley Community College and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) will be joined by the Malta Sunrise Rotary Club in presenting events associated with the Malta Expo this Saturday. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Hudson Valley will host family fun activities and an electronics recycling station at its TEC-SMART facility. The day begins with the Third Annual Malta Business and Professional Association 5K Run from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., followed by the Military, Veterans and First Responders Appreciation Day Parade from 10 to 11 a.m.
Where: TEC-SMART, 345 Hermes Rd., at the Saratoga Technology + Energy Park® in Malta
When: 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 8.
- From I-87, take exit 12 for Route 67 east toward Malta.
- After crossing Route 9, Route 67 becomes Dunning St. Follow through several traffic circles, continuing east.
- Nearly a mile after the second traffic circle, Dunning curves sharply to the left. Turn right here on Hermes Road to enter the STEP campus. Follow signs for TEC-SMART.
- Note detour in mid-morning due to parade – follow detour signs through Malta Commons to Dunning St.
Details: Family fun activities at TEC-SMART include entertainment by local and regional talent; exhibits by local crafters, artists and growers; competitions in robotics, paper airplane-making, photography and more; as well as tours of the facility that offers job training in green technologies.
