Preschool/Kindergarten Consortium Conference at Hudson Valley Community College Focuses on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support

||Teachers and support staff in preschool and kindergarten school settings.
||The 2009 Fall Conference of the Preschool/Kindergarten Consortium will bring together preschool and kindergarten teachers to talk about Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS), a strategy that can create a safer learning environment in schools.
8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16.
Bulmer Telecommunications Center, Hudson Valley Community College.
Participants will hear from Joseph Otter, MSW, who has worked at Capital Region BOCES as a trainer and facilitator. He currently serves as the behavior specialist for the Regional Special Education Technical Assistance Support Center, which helps schools improve special education services for children.
Teachers will meet in small groups with PBIS coaches to develop classroom and organizational expectations.
The conference is co-sponsored by the Cohoes City School District, The College of Saint Rose and Hudson Valley Community College.
The conference is free, and registration is due by Friday, Oct. 9.
