||Officials from Hudson Valley Community College, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners.
||The official opening of the college’s new photovoltaic (solar cell) laboratory, which gives students enrolled in the college’s new photovoltaic installation courses hands-on experience in this growing field.

Hudson Valley Community College received a $148,000 grant from NYSERDA to develop two photovoltaic installation courses and train instructors to teach the new technology. The courses, part of the college’s Electrical Construction and Maintenance program, train students to install and maintain photovoltaic systems.
||Enter the Hudson Valley Community College campus via South Road (the entrance across from the Country Grove restaurant). Follow South Road, which will curve to the right and become Williams Access Road; use the entrance to the parking lot immediately after the road curves. The photovoltaic lab is a fenced-in area in front of Williams Hall, which is located at the south end of the parking lot; the event will be held in Williams Hall Room 106.
