WHEN:

6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2004

WHERE:

Colonie Central High School Auditorium

DETAILS:

The event honors all students who have maintained a 90 or higher average as sophomores, juniors and seniors, and seniors who have maintained a 95 average or higher.

Dr. Silvestri was invited to be the keynote speaker at the event because of the strong relationship the college has with Colonie Central High School through Hudson Valley's "College in the High School" model, which allows high school students to take college level courses - and earn college credit - without leaving their school. Last year, 738 Colonie Central students took College in the High School courses, the most of any high school in the Capital Region. Hudson Valley offers 32 courses at the high school.

Hudson Valley offers college-level courses at 28 other high schools in the region, and last year, 1,763 students took advantage of those courses.
