Online Certificate Option
The Disabilities Studies certificate can be completed online without ever taking a campus-based course. Online students must have ready access to a computer with an internet connection. Students must be self-motivated, organized and possess strong time management skills.
An important note about tuition for online students who live outside New York State: Students residing outside New York State who take online courses exclusively are eligible to receive a college scholarship that will reduce the tuition to New York State resident rates. For more information, contact the Cashier's office.

Important Additional Information
This 28-credit certificate program provides you with a multi-disciplinary approach to the field of disability studies.
The certificate also enables a student to select an area of focus. Your course electives can address your specific areas of interest, including mental health; developmental and cognitive disabilities; American Sign Language; or assistive technology.
Courses can be transferred from other institutions. However, at least 50 percent of the credits for your degree must be obtained at Hudson Valley Community College. Please contact the department for details.
Please note that all courses are enrollment dependent. Again, through careful planning with an academic advisor, online students can successfully plan their online degree requirements.
